Sorry I haven't been on much in the past week.
Last monday out sick with a stomach virus
that hung on for several days and which DH got on Thursday.
I had 3 days vacation which we did the painting of the garage/workshop.
As this is a big building it did entail rental of scaffolding. A mechanical lift in hindsight I would have felt safer but alas it was 3 times the cost.
So we set up the 3 layers of scaffolding and I was the lucky person to go up the 15 ft and then stand upright gripping the roof with white knuckles and carefully painting the peak of the garage. Wouldn't you think there should have been a safety rail around the top??????
We tied the scaffold frame to the tractor "just in case".
The key for this height. DON"T LOOK DOWN ON THE GROUND"!!!!!
This was very difficult for me to do as I really didn't feel safe. It was a nice view when I was sitting down and looking an the surrounding area. We painted the south side 1st on Wed as it was cooler. Thur/Fri it was HOT!!!!

On Thursday-Neil got the high duty!!! THen after about an hour he said he didn't feel good. So I painted the lower areas as he didn't feel well enough to move the platform from 15ft to 14 ft so I left that area. It was pretty darn warm on Thursday and Friday but we finished the trim (a creamy color) and the second floor is a blue which brings out the stonework a bit. We did quite a bit of yelling at each other too!!
Yes pictures will be forthcoming when done. We are staining the cedar trim around the windows and doors "colonial red" then painting the trim cream and the doors-well a bit up in the air. The garage door is one of those carriage doors which I think will end up cream w/ blue inserts. Its way too hot to paint so that will have to be continued when it cools down. I'm now behind a bit on my weeding-I did however get the veggie garden done (only took 6 hrs!!)
Neil feels better I'm better as I am never repainting that building AGAIN!!!!

(we bought Pratt and Lambert accolade paint which has a lifetime warranty)
but we have lots of paint left.
So that's my story. Now lots of TCS reading to catch up on!!

Here... or There... Hmmm
Since it does seem so fitting to this thread I will tell you of the ordeal I had about two weeks ago, involving the ladder and the roof of my house! Anywho, my BF somehow got me up that ladder to help him on the roof.
I was shaking going up, mind you. Then when we are done he tells me I have to get down now!!!!
I don't think so. SO being the mature young woman that I am, I began balling
and told him I couldn't get down. I told him to call the fire dept. to get me down. He said they would make me come down a ladder too, I said no, they can get me down with the bucket!!!! Anyway, after crying
for over 30 mins, somehow I got down. (He wouldn't let me jump
off the side, so I had to go down the ladder!)

Now here is the really bad part. On one side of the roof we are only about 6 feet off the ground........ Didn't matter I was still scared Poopless!!!!!

Well, thats my story, so I feel ya; on not wanting to be up that high!!!
