When Pepsi's kittens were born, they were close to the same size, except for one who was a full ounce heavier than the others. Now that they are eight weeks old, though, there are significant size differences.

I just weighed one of the little missies, and she was about 1 pound, 14 oz. Then I weighed Tubby (the big one of the litter), and he's about 2 pounds, 6 ounces. All the kittens seem healthy and are eating me out of house and home
; I think the girls just are taking after their mother, who is tiny and very slightly built (though since she had the kittens she eats like a linebacker). I'd be suprised if Pepsi weighs five pounds. And the boys seem to be a lot denser, like their father. (He's not really a big cat, but then he was rescued as a kitten trying to eat gravel at the side of the road, so who knows what kind of start he got in life. Plus he's still a kitten himself.)

I guess my question is, should I be worried?

Were the ones that are plumper the first to be born? I noticed a pretty significant difference in weight between my 2 fosters...the one that is bigger was also the first born and she was not as active as her sister who was smaller.

The kittens I foster are usually different sizes. As long as they continue to gain weight and get bigger it doesn't matter how they are relative to one another. If one losses weight or doesn't gain any, then you start worrying.

The biggest one was first. Pepsi had a hard time with him. After that it was smooth sailing. They're all active, though they do have different levels of activity. The little black one takes after Ozzy and is extremely playful and kind of a little fart, actually. (Ozzy and he get along great, of course.) But they all have that kitten playfulness. Wrestle, tear through house, go places we're not supposed to, eat, poop, sleep. Rinse and repeat.

Okay, that's what I figured. I just wanted to double-check. They are all gaining weight, eating well, etc. I think they will have different body types. Two of the boys will be that stocky, muscular type, and one will be not quite as dense but still lots bigger than the girls. The girls just have this very slight bone structure and petite frame. They look like Pepsi in the face, too, which I guess makes sense since they've apparently inherited her bone structure.
