Hello everyone. I just found this site last night while searching for information in kitty flus. I've had pets all my life and just recently adopted two female litter mates, Pebbles and Pringles. They are 9 1/2 weeks old and I adore them. However both have URI's and poor Pringles has a nasty case of pink eye. They've been sneezing for a few days and I just took them to the vet Saturday so now they are de-wormed and have antibiotics and earmite meds.
I am usually laid back but I am very concerned about them as I have never had kittens or and other pet with a cold. The vet assures me they wil be fine but I still worry. Plus we have a 90 lb Lab who insists on busting into their room. I worry that they will have a food competition and I don't want them to be bitten or worse. Well that's all. Just wanted to say your site is nice and very informative.

Welcome Ayee12
DaddyCat and I have four kitties and our Basia who is 4 years old has always had a problem with her right eye. The vet said that it is just a little virus that will come and go and there really is not much you can do. I take a warm wash cloth and pat her eye when I notice it is becoming pink and she shuts it half way. I think it's because of the cat litter. She doesn't always have it but every once in a while it will well up. The warm washcloth does help. Whenever I get an itchy eye, I splash water on my face or I take a washcloth to my eyes too. It is very comforting to her because she does not struggle and afterwards her eye looks normal. You will get accustomed to their little quirks. I am so jealous that you have baby kitties. I love our kitties. We have two 4 1/2 year olds and 2 year olds. They our babies!! I wouldn't mind having a little baby kitty though. That would be so sweet but boy would it make the other kitties jealous!! After all, I am their MommyCat

My husband, DaddyCat, posted pictures of our kitties underneath his signature. Their order is Basia, Dubya, Jewel and Tiger. Tiger we found outside our apt. freezing and hungry last November. We can't imagine life without her now. The others were adopted through The Detroit Animal Shelter and Dubya was adopted through Serenity Animal Hospital.

Again, welcome and we hope to hear from you again soon!
