DH just took the kids to the driving range, and I am alone for the first time in I don't know how long! I mean, I am alone in the car every day after dropping the kids off at the sitters, until I get to work, but not alone at home very often.

And yes, I still have plenty of cats and a dog here in the house to keep me company! But NO PEOPLE! Should I strip nekkid and run through the house screaming? Take a bubble bath without the interruption of "Mom, I gotta pee. Can I come in?" Eat a gallon of ice cream? Just sit at TCS and post without being pestered?

Anyone else who rarely is alone? What do you do?

I live by myself so maybe I won't be much help to you. Since you're free to do whatever you want without interuptions, I would suggest endulging in some serious ME time. Don't do any chores. Do something that you've missed doing or couldn't do because....the kids were there. Maybe you could run around naked while eating ice cream. Why settle for just one thing!!

My ex used to be in the Navy, and would be gone for long periods of time. Once he was gone for 2years out of 3, if you added it all together! I can take "never alone" time easier than "too alone"! In fact, I already know I'll be one of those odd old ladies with too many pets, because I would rather have chaos than too much peace and quiet.

And honestly, my kids are 5 and 9, so its not like a baby who needs constant care, so I do mostly what I want with them home. (16 y/o ds is at his dad's for the summer, and 22 y/o dd lives out of state.)

So far I've been on TCS, lit the grill to start supper, and wormed the babies and Sugartoes. Wild, huh? But I will get a nice soak tonight before bed, after the little ones go to sleep.

And can I tell you, my 5 week old kittens are just too cute. The tortie girl (Smartie) already has tortie-tude! She does not want to be picked up! But you can pet her, just don't interfere with her play! Orange tiger boy (Twinkie) is laid back and sweet. I almost thought he was stupid but he was the first to eat solids, drink water, and use the litter box. The tiger baby is also sweet (Kiss), and has little orange areas among the brown stripes. I love the orange spots on her little chest. And Zero
the gray fluffy guy, is a love-bug. He always wants attention.

They are a lot of fun!

Hey, Beckiboo, I'm alone tonight as well. Son's gone down south with grandparents for the next four weeks and hubby is at work until very late. I'm going to pop some popcorn, pour a tall Scotch whiskey and watch some movies. Wanna come over?

No Scotch for me (I had a bad experience!) but I'll bring my bottle of Bombay gin - what movies you wanna watch???

I would take a bubble bath, run around naked, eat ice cream...When my bf works late, I watch a girlie movie something I know he wouldn't want to watch with me, and then usually the movie makes me cry...and it's nice not to have him there laughing how stupid it is.
But in my opinion a quiet bubble bath is a must

I'll be right over. DH came home with the kids, and asked if I would come with the next time he takes the kids. After they golf for about 20 minutes, they bugged him and he couldn't work on his swing.

Oh, this is the guy who has just gotten hooked on golf about a year ago, when I got cat crazy. So I have been totally supportive of his golf, as he has of my cats. But I told him he is just out of luck. He goes to the driving range and the golf course whenever he wants, all alone. By golly, when the kids want to go practice, I am NOT gonna tag along to babysit! LOL!

Just goes to show, even the sweetest guy can get confused sometimes. So now they're home, and I'm coming to your house for popcorn and a movie. I'm not much of a drinker-so make mine a sissy drink, ok?
