I've been messing with this worm for a week and finally have things under control (I think).
This worm hides itself and all it's files and entries. It's harder then hell to find and get rid of. And just when you think you got it.... you restart your pc and it reactivates! Uuuuggghhhhhh!! Norton systemworks 2005 didn't pick it up. Finally I uninstalled Norton and installed Panda. That picked it up and cleaned all but a couple files. It gave me enough info so that I could then boot into safe mode and get rid of the rest of it. SO BEWARE of the Alcar.a Worm!! It's a variant of the Spybot worm and it's a bugger!
