Wasn't sure where to post this....

I know that cats have to be full blooded "something" to be a certain type of cat. But what are calico cats? Are they full blooded? If not are there other names like that for cats that aren't full blooded. I was just wondering what to call LILO and GARFIELD.

Anyone know?

Cats that are mixed breed, or that aren't any particular type of breed, are usually called moggies, just like you'd call a mixed breed dog a mutt. Calico is simply a coat pattern, not a breed. So you could have a purebred calico persian, or a moggie that's no particular breed, with a calico coat.

Your cats are probably moggies, though Lilo does look rather like a Russian blue. Whatever they are, they're adorable!

I would just call them 'gorgeous' and be done with it!

Mixed cats are called moggies.

I'll refer to mixes as a breed mix only if they can near completely mimic the breed.
For example, I have a cat here that is a Sealpoint, blue eyed, overall right body proportions, she could pass as a Siamese, except for the two, small black spots along her spine, she's a Siamese mix

Calico(Tortoishell Bicolour) is a colour.

Tabby is a pattern.

Lilo is a blue Domestic Shorthair

Garfield is a Red Tabby Domestic Longhair

You mean you just want to post something new, like start a new thread? If so you can go to the category you would like to post in and click "New thread" and go from there
