I'm new here and was hoping for some advice. My 3 month old cat broke his leg and we took him to the vet and they put a splint on him. Well, Monday we are supposed to take him back in to have it removed and checked out to make sure its healing right, and tonight he got his leg out of it.

Should I try to keep him from moving around alot until I can get him back to the vet, or should I just let him do his own thing? I'm just worried that it isn't strong enough yet and hes going to re-break it.

Thanks in advance for the help.

We are taking him back to the vet today (well, in 6 1/2 hours anyway) and I'm hopeing that the Doc. will say he is ok, but I'm not sure.

I would try and keep him quiet (easier said than done, I know) until you get him to the vet. I had a cat once who got a plaster cast off her leg within a few days of having it on, and it had to be reset. But if it is only a day or so anyway till he would have it off then he is probably OK.

My friend had a cat with a broken leg, and she had to give him cage rest for 2 weeks to allow it to heal and to stop him from doing too much on it, i think it is a good idea, and might stop him being so active.

Actually, since he got hurt he hasn't moved around all that much. When he had the splint on he got around great and played with his brothers, but now that its off he plays, but he does it while laying down or sitting. He walks fine, but trys not to put much presure on it.
