Will I ever go to the bathroom by myself again?

Why do cats think you need company in the bathroom? I can't remember the last time I went at home without at least three cats to "keep me company." And if I close the door, they just stick their paws under like little kids and meow to be let in.

Now the kittens are doing it. So if they're all in a joining mood, I get nine cats watching me pee. NINE.

Why do cats DO this?

I don't know why they do it but they all do it!! I can't even take a shower alone. Scratches on the door and paws under the door if I don't let them in. With 4 I need a larger bathroom

Hehe I have one that tries to outguess me and tell me when I should go to the bathroom.
LOL he'll lead me to it, yaking the whole way, he always looks so let down when I tell him I just don't have to go.

Two of mine were fosters who were raised in my bathroom, I think that's why they hang out in there with me. But my eldest cat needs to sit on my lap when I'm on the throne and one will sit on my shoulders, the other will stand on the sink and paw at me.
My 1-year-old kitten will jump up on my husband's shoulders while he's going to the bathroom, then try to jump on the curtain rod...she usually falls off and takes the towels down with her...

I'd prefer they only looked at me.

One of my cats, Toobaloo (deceased) used to like coming to the bathroom with me, sometimes even sitting on my lap as I did what I went in their to do.

Sometimes when I was in the house by myself and feeling a little worried about potential intruders (or family coming home too soon and possibly hearing me sing in the shower) I would have Toobaloo in the bathroom with me. He would perk up and stare at the door if someone was in the house.

This thread is too funny, hahaha
My kitties do it too. No matter if its a bath, shower or a pee pee, they all have to be support. I think they even try to help with brushing teeth.. Well Lacie likes to eat the toothpaste so I have to watch her.. Thats her only reason for being there. As for the rest.. Its like having your very own Washroom Security

Charlotte used to follow me into the bathroom, but she seems to do it less frequently and with less intensity since she's older. What really annoys me is when Izzie comes into the bathroom and starts meowing at me. I try to tell her "I'm busy", but she doesn't seem to care that I'm on the human litter box.

With our gang it was because you were a "captive audience" and could pet them for the next couple of minutes! Our toilet is next to the tub and the cats learned to sit on the tub for a skritch session.

Years ago, one cat would fly in ahead of you to wait. Her path would take her across the toilet seat (down). But one fateful day she was a millisecond late and l already had the toilet seat up. *splash*

And no, I doubt you will ever have privacy again and if you do, you will probably miss the intrusions!

What makes me laugh is when I am in there they often decide that my doing it means they need to 'go' too. As they have two litter boxes in the bathroom we get three cats fighting over the two, with the loser meowing and running between the two, legs crossed! And not to be gross, Persil always feels she needs to inspect what I have done before I flush!

I'm just a tad claustraphobic and don't like being in small rooms by myself
so I kind of appreciate it
although I wish Annie wanted to get in my lap more when I *wasn't* sitting on the toilette.

My Dubya (2nd picture) is infamous for following me to the toilet. Not only does he rub against me and flop down in front of me for a rubdown, sometimes he tries to chew my underwear! None of my other cats will do this, although Jewel (3rd picture) loves running water and thus has to watch me shower.

Dunkin will be outside the door always
all I have to do is say Dunkin put your foot in here and he does, then he'll take it out I say it again and he does it again
he's so funny

Oh gosh, this had me in stiches!

I shut mine out too. On the odd occasion that the door is open (if I was in a hurry) then I end up with an Elmo on my knee and a 50kg dog trying to sit on my knee too.

Well, I'm glad to know I'm not alone. So do any of you have to dance around after you get out of the shower to keep the little furballs from rubbing against your legs before you've dried off?

When I start walking toward our bathroom ... Dexter leaps up & runs in front of me, while glancing back, to be sure that I am following (?) him to the bathroom. Then Sadie follows. It's a parade every time.
