Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Lisa, Beth, Jan, Heidi, Chris, Kelly, Denise, Steph, Gail, Pat, Susan, Ari, Ash, XO, everyone! - it means a lot.

Sasha had a great Sunday.
He went hunting, he visited with GF Measie, and ate 3 little meals, and then curled up on my bed for the night. Today was my first day at the new job, so I was incredibly relieved that I could be away for the day and know he's probably ok. Eric was home to feed him at noon instead of just 7 am and 7 pm. He's doing great! I am so very grateful and lucky to have all of your support, because everybody thinks I am so strong but I really am such a marshmallow. Truly.

Congratulations, Eddie, for your first day on the job!
What a perfect day for Eric to be available to keep an eye on your babies! Yippee, Sasha, for having such a great day!
Marshmallow or not, Eddie, you're such an incredible woman and a fantastic Mama!

I can understand how relieved you are! Would an automatic feeder help for the meals he needs when you're not home? I just got a delivery of cat food today, and the supplier put a brochure about Petmate feeders inside the box. There are ones with timers and "refrigeration" in various sizes. I just showed it to our neighbors, since they're having trouble coordinating their dog's meals (he has to eat 4- 5 small meals a day due to digestive problems, and will only eat canned food).

Something is still not quite right.
He has this deep dry cough and ever so slight increased moisture on his nose....I did Petromalt for hairballs all week and it's not gone away and I think it's a URI. Dang it - he's never been sick a day in 13 years so I have nothing to put into past context. So tomorrow morning we're back to the vet. I think the elevated white blood cell count - a sign of infection - might be something to do with a bronchial infection?? Lowgrade stuff? It's been rainy and dark since April w/only 5-6 days of sun and summer warmth. Both Eric and I have still not completely shaken our own bronchial crud. Maybe Sasha has it too. Hopefully, an anti-bitoic will do some good, as he did test negative for everything and his urine and organ functions looked great.

oh thank you, Sam. I sure am worried. I hope it's nothing more than a pesky bronchial affliction that they didn't catch the first time because it hadn't ballooned.

Hi Elizabeth, here's hoping it's something mild, and will clear up. When I started down the thread I was so afraid it would be like Freddie, I remember what you went through. Pixie says hello, she's a (really) big girl now.

Was in the same place you were, so I know exactly how you're feeling. My Ginza had to go to the ER a few nights ago, our regular vet last couple days, thankfully he's been responding to the meds, even though we don't know the cause. I've been watching and worrying since.

Keeping fingers crossed for Sasha.

oh!
to Ginza! I breathed a huge sigh of relief when the FeLV and FIV/FIP tests came back negative. I was ready to accept that something had been tansmitted betwen Sasha & Freddie so long ago, and that due to the coyote attack Sasha's immunities may have weakened, so nothing pleased me more than to have a negative report. Even though I know Freddie would take good care of his big brother if anything should happen, I do have a lot of peace with that. It's just this nagging feeling that something isn't quite right. Sasha was very vocal tonight because I took a bath in the hot tub w/o bubbles. He has to have bubbles because he likes to play with them and likes me to blow them in the air. Then he played tag with his little sister up and down the stairs for half hour. You wouldn't know something isn't right with him....but when we are parents, we "just know" right?

...and thank you too, Miss Sandra! You are so kind to me and my S-3.

Sasha's just home, snacking on salmon treats on top of the picnic table.
Everything went fine. His blood sugar level has come way up and is perfectly normal now. We agreed that the change in eating times may have had a lot to do with it, so we'll keep to the 4 small meal schedule from now on. He has no sign of any allergies nor bronchial infection! All clear.
Strong heart, lungs, everything looked fantastic. We'll do hairball remedy for another two weeks to respond to that hacking every other day or so. The only thing left is the white blood cell count and if they remain elevate, then the doc will give us some mild antibiotics since everything is now negative. So I guess this is a guarded elation~~ and just waiting, again, for that one last piece........
