I have two 11 week old kittens. The little girl is always licking or bathing her brother. He stands it for awhile but after ahile he gets irritated and pushes her away gently, is this typical behavior?

Thanks!

It is called mutual grooming, and unless she is suckling or nursing on her brother, I wouldn't worry about it. Once she is spayed that maternal instinct will be quenched a bit. But if it bothers you, you can groom a tiny bit of lemon juice onto the boy, that will stop the behavior, and make boy a bit sticky.

Licking and grooming is also used to establish alpha cat behaviour, though they are quite young for that. But you may find that the little girl will always be Topcat inthe household!

Nothing to be concerned about. As you see, he lets her know when he's had enough of her attention.

Mirah grooms Annie all the time, and they're sister. CJ and Billy groom each other a lot too... always have, and now I have two kittens!
