My husband keeps gettings things in the mail for him to join AARP (American Association for Retired Persons - I think anyway!) If you or someone you know is a member - do you find good benifits? If so, what are they?

My parents and all my Aunts and Uncles are members. My parent's don't seem to get much other than a few magazines a year that my mother reads to keep up on issues. But then I have an Uncle that I believe takes advantage of more of their offerings. If I remember correctly they have a program like Triple A that they offer. I'm not really sure what else is offered though.

My parents became members when they reached retirement age, and my mom is still a member. I read their magazine when I'm visiting, and am all for such an organization!

I'm too young to join AARP, but my grandmother and dad both are members. You could check out their website. There is some benefits of membership information there.

Thanks, we looked at the website before and while it does say what some of the benifts are - it really dosen't get too specific. I am too young to join too - hubby isn't though.

Ah wacky go my own way person that I am, I won't be joining AARP - who keeps flooding me with invitations to do so soon. I'm afraid we just don't see issues the same way
and I just won't support them.
