Just wondering if there's a limit on the number of threads I can be subscribed to. Thanks....

Nope. In your User CP, you can set your options to subscribe automatically to every thread you post to.

I'm a fairly new member.

I subscribed (successfully) to three threads in the Health forum, and tried to subscribe to a fourth, but it wouldn't respond. This thread is not closed. I tried it while I was signed on at work and again when I got home.

What could I suddenly be doing wrong?

Thanks.

I'm suscribed to something like 4,000 threads or something! Probably even more - because when I first joined you were suscribed automatically.

I tried the one I wanted to subscribe to again later (just minutes ago), and after a 2nd or 3rd try, it let me! Who knows what was wrong - hopefully won't happen again.

If it keeps happening, you may want to let them know here -I think that happened to me once, and for all we know it could be a problem for others...

Leah, it means you'll get an e-mail every time someone replies to the thread. It's useful when you need to keep an eye on a thread or it's one you started.

You'll see at the top of the first post in every thread, a button called Thread Tools. One of the options is Subscribe to the Thread.

You can automatically subscribe to any thread you post to, by setting the option in your User CP. Under Messaging and Notification, the second item is "Default Subscription Mode"...

When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.\t

Default Thread Subscription Mode: [*dropdown menu]
On the *dropdown are 5 choices: Do not subscribe; No email notification; Instant Notification; Daily Notification; Weekly Notification.

If you want to be notified of new posts to your subscribed threads, choose one of the last three; if you want to subscribe, but not get a gazillion emails, choose "No email notification", and use your User CP to view the threads that have new posts.

You can still add subscriptions to other threads -- that you haven't posted to but want to watch -- by using the thread tools menu as mentioned above. You can also use that to remove subscriptions you don't want any more.
