At what age do kittens get their first heat? I'm getting Fez nuetered once he is better and weighs over 2 pounds, and Stash my other kitten will get spayed when Fez goes in. But when do kittens start going into heat? I'd like to get them spayed/nuetered before that happens. I dont want any accidental babies.

Males don't go into heat. Female's first heat varies widely. It's not terribly unusual at four months (although that's pretty early). Your plan to get your boy cat neutered at an early age is a good one. That should alleviate your pregnancy concerns as long as the girl cat stays indoors. Neutering can be easily done any time as long as the testicles have descended.
