I'd eat at a good Mom-and-Pop, one-of-a-kind restaurant over any chain, any day.

Hmm.....probably Ghengis Grill, even though the food isn't authenitcally Mongolian. Tastes good, if you can match the right meats and spices.

'Pends on what you mean by "chain." There's local chains and national chains. None of the national chains I would say. Locally there's Jim 'N Nicks BBQ where we usually like to go for a treat. Great BBQ, usually outstanding service (we've gotten stung a couple of times, but I've never been to any restaurant where the service was 100%, 100% of the time,) very good Killian's on tap (they keep it good and cold.) When we've gotten adventurous with the menu and gotten something other than our "usual" it's always been good, too.

My best friend used to work for Outback corporate, so we definitely had our share of all of their concepts, and at a discount, too!

That includes Carrabba's and Bonefish Grill, among others.

Ooooh Bonefish Grill!!

I only find Outback and Olive Garden to be mediocre though. Outback because I don't really like eating steak out...and their menu is kind of limited (at least the last time I was there) and Olive Garden because that is just very middle of the road italian food IMO!

We don't have a Bonefish Grill around here. There's a non-chain restaurant called Bonefish Willy's that I LOVE, so it makes me curious - what is Bonefish Grill like?

I think Outback is overrated and overpriced. I haven't been there since years ago my husband (then) had steak and I had salmon. His came with a salad, but mine didn't. Whats up with that?

I guess if I have to pick a chain, it would be Red Lobster. I like being able to order a half portion, they don't overcook their fish (at least the one around here doesn't), and I LOVE their biscuits!

Katherine, Carraba's is really great, too. Olive Garden is ok. I worked there a long time ago and I must say, its one of the cleanest restaurants I've worked in. A waitress got caught licking salad dressing off her hand and they made her stop waiting on tables and sweep the kitchen.

I love Palaminos. It is my favorite restaurant period- and by default my favorite chain. Ruth's Chris is yummy as well. I also really like TGI Fridays and O'Charleys. I haven't eaten at Carabbas yet, but I want to. Their menu looks yummy.

I work at the Olive Garden and it is definitely the cleanest restaurant I have worked for as well. We even have sani-wipes near the drink station in case we use a cone cup to get a drink of soda. Do not fear your food at the OG, it will not be contaminated

I looove to eat so I'm going to go a little overboard I'm sure, but my favorites would be Red Lobster, the Olive Garden, and Chilis. Those are always my top 3 picks depending on what kind of food I'm in the mood for exactly. Although I do like some local places maybe a tad better.

My favorite is Outback - Aussie Cheese Fries and really good bread!

I really like Applebees too. Their food is pretty good and they actually have some really good drinks too (chocolate martini - yum
)

Bonefish Grill is delicious Renee! Their fish is SO tasty and it's a really fun atmosphere. There's one around here in Orlando somewhere that I've been to, I just can't remember exactly where!

Another place that I THINK is a chain that I REALLY love is Cafe Tu Tu Tango! It's incredible! Everything there is an appetizer so it's all made to share with the rest of your table. All of their food is wonderful and the atmosphere is awesome. Often there will be a local artist sitting near the front creating some new piece and the place is totally decorated with local artwork that's up for sale. It's such a fun place to go. That one's located on I-Drive!
