I want to take Missy to get her spayed but not sure if it is the right time or not.

She just had her litter 7 days ago. If i take her now, will this take any affect on her feeding or bonding with the kittens? Will she be in pain?

Should i wait a little bit longer?

I have no worries about her getting pregnant again at this moment. She is an indoor cat. No male cats around. She is not in heat yet, is with the kittens all the time..

I want to have all the kittens spayed also before they go to their new homes. If anyone knows any place where spaying is cheaper then 50.00 in illinois, chicago area, i would greatly appreciate any info. I have a total of 5 kitties to spay.

Also wanted to share that i have taken some new pictures of the kittens today!

Joanne....I would wait on the spaying until she has weaned the kittens....around 6 weeks. Just make sure she has no access outdoors because even though she doesn't appear to be in heat, I have read on this board of cats going back into heat fairly soon after giving birth.

Just had a mama and kitten in foster care--the mama rejected the kit at around 6 weeks. That was because she was already three weeks pregnant. I'd say just make sure she can't go anywhere near a male if you are going to wait a while. I agree with TNR, though, this might be a little early to spay.
