Hi everyone!

Just 4 days ago I got a white Persian kitten a.k.a Kenny
.He's 8 weeks old and he's GORGEOUS!!! He has light blue eyes, grey ears, a light grey tail, his legs are white but his feet are very symmetrically grey. I've had 2 dogs before him, one of which I still have. He's a very mischevious kitten, and VERY smart. We bought him from a mall pet store for quite a chunk of change. Hopefully this site will give me a little info or a lot, which i need.

I wonder if there's someone on this site that has experience with persians. I need a little info about behavior, best food, best kind of comb and shampoo (since they have really long hair)etc. I'd be very thankful if someone like this could help me!

Welcome to TCS! There are definitely people here that know about Persians. Why don't you post a message in the Grooming and Behavior forums so everyone can see your questions?

Hi, and welcome to TCS!
I hope you're enjoying yourself here. I'm still pretty new here myself, but I have a Persian cross. She sounds like she's nearly the same colouring as yours!
Anyway, I don't really bathe her at all, as she does a pretty good job of that on her own, but I do brush her occassionally. I use a sort of bristle / paddle brush. The teeth are pokey, and wide set, because of her long hair. (I hope that made some sort of sense!
) I feed her Wal-Mart brand. I know it's not the best for her, but she won't eat any other kind of dry food. She LOVES Purina wet cat food, and the Pounce treats. As for behavior, ask me anything! My little girl's pretty much all over the map as far as that goes! She tends to be a bit crazy
and can be quite vocal.

Welcome to TCS!

Congratulations.
I breed Persians & Exotics. That's really sad, however, that they would sell a kitten so young.

Look forward to seeing pics.

Yes I definately agree that they sold him pretty young, but never the less he's a wonderful addition to our family. I'll post pics as soon as my digital camera is fixed, the pictures won't stay.

Welcome to the site!

We do have quite a few members with Persians, and others like Sam who are Persian breeders.
I agree with Karen, the best way to get a plethora of information about taking care of your little boy would be to just ask for tips in the Care & Grooming forum.

I have a smokey black persian. He doesnt like to clean his fur. So I take him
to a groomer every two months for a shave. Picture a lion smooth close shave on the body and long hair on the end of his tail, legs and head. Thats Simon. I dont have his picture posted but I will get it up. Welcome to the site.
