Hi! First of all, I'd like to thank you for all the kitty food suggestions.. Aphro (short for Aphrodites... I'd love to post some pics, but I don't know how..
) is on Nutro's Max Cat Gourmet Classics for Kittens as well as Nutro's Natural Choice Complete Care for kittens and it is a complete success... her stools are waayyyy less stinky
and she seems to like to snack on it. I was also thinking of feeding her the pouches Nutro has available for kittens.

Ok.. so here's the dilemma.. since I'm a poor college student, I have very limited funds (but do not want to feed my kitten solely crap.. aka Meow mix or whatever), but I was wondering what everyone's opinion was about alternating Nutro wet food with something like Fancy Feast wet food or similar brands while keeping the same Nutro dry food. For example, Nutro wet in the morning and Fancy Feast wet at night (or something similar).

Any opinions/suggestions/comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you have a petsmart check out authoritys wet, pro pack makes decent , meow mix is decent and some fancy feast is good ..... I just found a reasonable good quaity dry cat food they are premium edge and feline caviar..Have you checked the local feed store I by my nutro there since it runs up to five $ s cheaper than some pet stores..

Some Fancy Feast flavors are not that bad, just try to stick with those with the least ucks
I know the fish in aspic variety are free of soy and by-products...just check the labels.

I also agree that some of the Meow Mix pouches have a decent ingredients list (though for some reason, they make my guys throw up?).

Glad to hear your kitten has been doing better on Nutro

My three love the Meow Mix pouches. They all split one pouch each evening as a little treat. I also have been known to mix a better quality dry kibble with a lesser quality cheaper kibble to stretch things out a bit.

i feed a high quality kibble (Sensible Choice Chicken & Rice) but my cats don't like 99% of the high quality canned. so they get the couple flavors of higher quality stuff they like rotated with Fancy Feast, Meow Mix Pouches and Friskies pouches (and Pro Plan Canned when it goes on sale). it works out pretty well for us, and the cats are healthy & have shiney coats.

(just make sure you read the labels. some of the FF & Meow Mix wet have pretty good ingredients for grocery foods)

Look on Nutro's website, if you sign up for a frequent buyer program, they will send you a card and 20$ in coupons. I wouldn't use fancy feast, it has by-products in it. Also, it's not cheap. It costs about the same as Nutro pouches.
