My cat gave birth this morning to 3 kittens. This afternoon she keeps rolling on them.. I move her of them and she does it again.. This is her first litter. Does anyone know why she is doing this? Shes not ignoring them and has been nursing them?

Is she a young cat? Could she be trying to get your attention and just forgets the kittens are there?

I don't know why, but maybe if you move them from under her, instead of moving her? Just a thought?

It is possible she is heat and cannot help herself. I would remove the kittens from her or put them into a smaller area where rolling is not an option- she could accidentally either injure or kill them in her rolling.

Hissy...I was unaware that cats went back into heat again so soon. Good information to know.
