Hi! I've been feeding four ferals outside my house since the winter. Over the past two weeks, I've managed to trap 3 (2 males, one female) and had them speutered. There's ONE left, a male, who just won't go into the trap no matter what I put in there. Since the female is spayed, should I just let him go? Or any advise on how to trap this wiley stinker?

Congratualtions and God bless you for caring enough for those ferals!!

The only problem you may have with letting the 1 male go that you can't trap, is that he will probably find another female to mate with and/or will continue to fight with other males.

I am no expert and I am also in the process of trapping these smart little fuzzy faces...but I do know a neutered male will be more mellow...no fighting...no spraying...no chasing of females.

I'm sure someone will come along that can suggest some delicious treat that your sneaky male will want to eat so you can trap him.

Congrats for trapping the ones you have....I would highly recommend trapping this male. Even if he cannot get the girl you had spayed pregnant...he can still roam and get other intact females pregnant. Also...it's healthier for him to be neutered. Here is a really good article on how to trap "trap savvy" cats:
