Isabelle is my one year old cat. This morning I noticed she was doing something I have never seen her do before. She is pawing at the ground like she would if she was covering up her "mess" in the litterbox. She hasnt had an accidnet, and she is doing this in random spots, mostly by the food though. Its werid I've never seen her do that unless she was covering up her poop in the box. What could it mean?

mine does that all the time, shes trying to bury her food for later!
Sophie used to do it, and i was told the same as what nickys just told you
Tripod does that around his wet food dish. I always wondered why too and figured that he was telling me he was done with it.
If she starts doing it in other areas, away from the food, or if it looks like she's squatting and trying to pee frequently, I would get her to a vet. If it's only around the food dish, I wouldn't worry.
