This afternoon a sweet little guernsey cow meandered into our neighbors back yard. There she proceeded to tear into his orchard, and dismantle what was left of his garden. Since the highway is so close it was feared she would get out and get hit, so Emergency Services was called. It took over an hour for the sheriff to even respond, and when the deputy came out, he was not cowy at all and approached the cow head on- which turns them around and she fled up the highway. What ensued was completely hysterical with no less than 6 cop cars roaring up and down the highway, using sirens, going on back streets. She finally ended up in the creek and they all waded in with joined hands (the intention I guess to surround her and play ring around the rosie?)
But she just whirled, and ducked underneath their hands and charged up one yard and then another. Finally, the owner was located and he came with her baby and coaxed her close and then he drove her from the rear and took her home with the cop cars flanking her so she wouldn't bolt. i sure hope she got home safe and I am sure she is going to sleep tonight. It was quite a circus with a full-on storm raging, thunder and lightning- and me with no video camera on hand! Loaned it to a friend for the holidays. Would of been quite a winner on America's Funniest
