Tortoise Shell Kitty Lovers?

When we adopted Abby from the shelter, they told us she was a dilute gray tortoise shell tabby. We had no idea what that meant. Here is a picture of her. Does that sound about right?
Is Isabelle a tortoise shell? Sometimes her stripes show up better at different angles.

Isis is a diluted tortie, even though she looks like she is all gray. She is my special cuddler.

My Sweetie is a torbie... I just love her markings - I've never seen one so symmetrical!

yeah, Gareth - they are calicos - very pretty ones, too! Java's a calico, too, but my 1st cat, Medley, was a tortie. i think Isabelle & Abby are torbies - they have stripes & patches!
