i dont know too much about behavior... but as long as shes not hurting herself (biting, ripping out fur, bleeding...ect) then it seems like its ok to me. Sounds kinda cute

Chrissy, I would stop it now. As she gets older, she will suck all the hair off her tail, she will get a skin disease and other problems. You can apply bitter apple spray to her tail to deter her, or give her a small stuffed animal to suck on. She is a little big for a proxy sucking object but you can try it. This is not a good habit to encourage. You could also try some Bach Flower Remedy to help calm her a bit as this type of behavior is usually due to an anxious cat.

Our cat also suck his tail. We have put tabaso sauce on it to try to get him to stop and one it wears off he starts sucking it again. Can anyone tell us how to get him to stop?

Thanks

Tucker used to suck on his own belly, or one of his forelegs. It happened everytime he was snuggling next to me . It used to drive me nuts, I was always telling him to stop nibbling! Thank goodness he grew out of it. (But maybe that's why his belly is so luxuriant-hee hee!)
