gabby has Pancreatitis

for all who know me you know that i have three cats and two dogs (Gabby) who was my Dads dog that now lives with me after the loss of my Dad two years ago (Gabby) has been sick with Pancreatitis since friday ive been back to the vet twice and going back this moring at 9:30 cause they need to give her more fluids and recheck her i do not know what stage she is at i am so lost right now (Gabby) is the only thing i have left of Dad and im so scared im going to loose her she can't even get up to walk around she just lays theres but the vet said she will half to be very calm and no food or water and lots of rest but sometimes you fill something deep inside that tells you that something bad is about to happen
I pray to God that this won't happen to (Gabby) last night i pulled out the stuff red dog (cliffard) that i took to Dad while he was in the hosiptal and layed it beside gabby cause i knew it still had dads sent on it i keep it under the bed packed in a box with other persnal items of dads.
i hope that this will help (gabby) im just sick over all of this i was afraid to ask for ya'll prayers because shes a Dog and this is a cat site but i really need some heavy prayers from everyone right now for (Gabby) please help me my heart is in so much pain right now thank you for listing to me

I think most everyone here loves dogs as well as cats, but more importantly, we are all here for each other. Of course I'll send out my prayers for poor sweet Gabby.

Please feel better, Gabby. Belated condolences on the loss of your Dad. Today being Fathers Day must still be hard for you! I lost my Mom 3 years ago, so I understand a little of what you are feeling.
I kept some of her clothing, as we were similar in size. I remember the first time I put on one of her dresses, and it smelled like her. It was such a comfort. Then the day came when all her smell had worn off, that little touch of perfume...how I cried when I realized it!
Gabby loved your Dad, and was loved by him. I'm sure that makes him extra special for you. But your Dad will always be a part of you, no matter what happens. Purrs and hugs to you all!

thank you im sorry for the loss of your mom sometimes it helps to keep something of a loved one i can still smell my fathers sent on his shirt and the little red dog thats is next to gabby and yes Gabby is extra special to me thanks again for the reply

hello everyone i wanted to say thank you for all your prayers for Gabby

as you know we took gabby back to the vet this morning heres a little up date for everyone the vet said her temp went down a little bit and also gabby was able to walk about 70 feet today when we take her out we half to put her on a piece of ply wood cause we can't lift her with out hurting her she seems to be holding her own right now she is sleeping the vet had to give her somemore fluids and shots so far this is what the vet told me dr jones said she stood a good chance for recovery but she is not out of the woods yet

Also if she does pull through this i have learned a very hard lesson on feeding table scraps to my dogs i knew it was wrong but i didn't think once in a while that it would hurt but i was wrong alot of this is due to feeding gabby snacks from my plate so i really feel guilty on this but anyway i just want to thank each and everyone of you for keeping me and gabby in your prayers
we will be taking gabby back to the vet in the morning i belive she'll be going back and forth for a while till she is able to eat and drink on her own i will keep you posted

well guys i had to give ya a update on Gabby guess what after day five of treatment with gabbys fluids and meds from the the vet yesturday when i got home and got gabby settled down and left for work my husband got home a few hours later and and called me at work and was all upset he told me Gabby had a hole on her side up near her chest on the left so i started to have a panic attack i left work drove down the road like a nut help my husband put gabby in the car and we got her to the vet and you know what after all of this it was a spider bite i asked the vet on saturday about that black and blue spot on her side and they said it was noughting to worry about but they told me that the same syptoms would of been the same with a Pancreatitis attack

but why did they tell me it was Pancreatitis after runnung test anyway i just thank God that she is ok and the reason the hole was there gabby had chewed on it and the puss came out and the vet said she should start feeling better after they squeezed the rest out but gabby is going back again this morning to be check agian they want to make sure that its not both things spider bite and Pancreatitis
i dont know much about spider bites but i sure hope that hole don't get any worse cause it sure is nasty looking
