hi, it is really late and i am the only one up and i think my cat's leg might be broken or sprained. i might be over-reacting, but my mom is out of town and my dad said it was no big deal. he said she got her leg stuck or something earlier and she fell. i don't know the exact details. anyway, my cat is 7 or 8 i think and she had a hard time getting up the stairs and is now laying in the corner, and my other cat keeps going up to her. whenever i go near her she hisses and growls. she never really liked me in the first place, but she seems really scared and apprehensive. is there anything i can do??? sorry if i am over-reacting i am just really scared.

I would highly recommend you contact an emergency clinic. They should be able to give you advice over the phone and let you know whether she needs to be seen ASAP.

If your kitty has injured her leg, she needs to be examined by a Vet immediately. She is in pain, this is why she is reacting to you in this matter. I strongly recommend that you get her to an emergency Vet. Please have her treated promptly!

the only thing is that i am only 14 and i don't want to seem like a hassle to my dad and wake him up if it is nothing. i looked in the phonebook and there is only one ad that mentions 24 hour emergenies and it doesn't say anything about phone service. would they try to charge me or something if i called? also, i am not even positive she has injured her leg, but she isn't going anywhere when she would usually run away.

The reason I suggested an emergency clinic is that oftentimes they can help you over the phone..and no, they should not charge you a fee for asking them questions.

thank you all for trying to help. i called the emergency place and they said i had to decide whether to take her in tonight. i would feel more comfortable taking her first thing tomorrow i decided because she is very tempremental and will only agree to be held by one vet tech. i don't even know the name of her vet but i left a message for her and she should call tomorrow morning. if there is anything you guys think i should do to keep her comfortable tonight, please suggest it. i might end up just staying up all night with her even though she hates me, haha. thanks again for your help!

If you can get her into a quiet, dark room, then she might stay calmer. Since she's injured, you don't want her jumping around. Plus, it will keep the other cat from bothering her. Other than that, cats tend to hide and want to be left alone when they're injured. It's part of their survival instinct. Good luck, and good for you for looking out for the kitty.
