I know I've posted a LOOOONG time ago about whose favorite coffee were, etc, but it's been over a year or so since then and there are new people on here, so I thought I ask again

So what is your favorite coffee brand, and what coffee maker do you use?

I was a Starbucks aholic, but am enjoying the Seattle's Best coffee brand, so far they are not acidic nor leave a funky after taste in your mouth. I am using Krups for the moment, I was on the Senseo but their pods are getting expensive, so back on the Krups.

We use Trader Joe's brand house coffee - we grind the beans in the store. But funny you should mention this - I was thinking that I need to get a new coffee pot. The current one is getting old, and heaven forbid that it breaks and we don't have coffee one morning! I want one that has a digital timer on it, so we can schedule the pot to be ready about when we get up (like the one we have now) We have always had "Mr. Coffee's" but am looking around before I get one.

Anyone have one that grinds the beans right before brewing?

Okay javaholics, don't be shy now

Talon, my hubby bought a brand new Mr.Coffee that has a timer, and automated shut off, etc, he loves it, he got it from COSTCO for under $40 I think. It has a cool neon green clock on it, very slick new design. All the workers love this one, better than Krups actually LOL!

I drink plain on folger's dark roast and I have a little portable 2 cup coffee maker that comes apart and stores to the size of a 20 ounce glass.

I'm not supposed to have coffee at all, and I used to drink 3 or 4 pots a day, I think 2 cups won't kill me

My favourite is coffee and chicory from Cafe DuMonde in New Orleans - I found a store that sells it here, thank goodness but when I am home in NZ, I am going to have to order it.
I just love that taste - the stronger, the better!!!

I like Starbucks, but I also like Green Mountain. I try to buy the free trade or organic when it's available. There is a stand at my local farmer's market, that has my favorite coffee, it's just called Smokin' cup of Joe, and I love it.

Has anyone had the pleasure of real Kona coffee from Hawaii? Definitely the smoothest, best coffee I've ever had!

I drink Starbucks "Sumatra"... it's smooth and rich & oh-so tasty!

Actually, I add pumpkin pie spice to the coffee grounds BEFORE brewing. If ya add cinnamon, ginger and/or nutmeg, it gives your coffee a spicy taste.

I prefer my coffee black as death and VERY strong. After 4 yrs the guys I work with have accepted they just have to learn to like "Steph's Style" of coffee!!! Makes yer heart pound outta yer chest!

Re: a coffeemaker, at work I have this really nice one by Cuisinart. It is awesome! Stainless steel carafe which keeps the coffee hot for hours. It's got a really nice filter (built in, not that paper kind).

At home, I have a Mr. Coffee, one of those lame 10-cup kind that takes paper filters? But I only use it on weekends so it's cool.

We only rarely pick up a gourmet blend, usually when we're expecting houseguests
, otherwise it's Folgers or Maxwell House, whatever Sam's has that's cheap.

We just replaced our old Mr. Coffee coffeemaker that had stood us in good stead for years with another moderately priced Mr. Coffee and I hate it
! The design of the carafe and the unit itself it always spills some no matter how careful you are.

I've decided we need to get a good coffeemaker. Don't need all the bells 'n' whistles particularly, but if it comes with some that's cool.

I'll be following this thread to see what other folks use.

We usually have either Dunkin donuts coffee or Green Mountain Coffee. My favorite flavor on the Green Mountain coffe is Rainforest Nut.

If I am picking up a coffee while I am out I usually buy dunkin Donuts or Starbucks. This time of year I prefer my coffee iced with an extra shot of expresso.

I used to have cream and sugar in my coffee, but now I only have skim milk.

I have heard of this happening, some people's tummy can't tolerate the 'acidic' found in coffees, but it is recommended to drink A LOT of water afterwards to dilute, if you are drinking on an empty tummy.

I just passed by a Dunkin Donuts with a sign saying they have the best coffee, I will try it some day. Thus far though I'm a Krispy Kreme gal and love their iced coffee drinks that they make
At the moment I'm Starbucks caramel frappucino and during the cold months, caramelmacchiato
Love caramel

I wonder what is the difference between the 'espresso' and regular coffee machines? A friend of mine suggested to buy the espresso machines? A bit pricey for me though...

Espresso coffee is very strong, closer in flavor and body to french press coffee.
Espresso grind is very, very fine grind, and it is all dark roasted.
Water is forced by steam pressure through the grinds.

The numbers here are just pulled out of the air only as an example.
Normal coffee is like 1 part coffee to 7 parts water
Espresso would be more like 3 parts coffee to 4 parts water

I haven't cleaned my coffee maker in over a year - even though is says to once a month. So I just cleaned it.... must have been too much of a shock to its system... because it died.
Off to wally world for a new one.

And I thought this was going to be about programming, lol Years ago (in internet yrs, it seems a long time, I used to maintain the Java FAQ for the HTML Writers Guild and now Java does not mean coffee to me.

I find Starbucks too strong - give me Tims (I am a Canuck, lol) any day!!

My absolute favorite coffee is Cafe La Toscana, from the Olive Garden. Mmmmmmmmm. I love this coffee. We all drink it at work. I am a member of Gevalia, which I also like- especially the vanilla nut variety. I use a Gevalia coffee maker. I like Illy espresso and use a Mr. Coffee pump espresso machine for that. I have a red Kitchen Aid coffee grinder, it's cute! I also love Starbucks, particularly the frappachinos and soy mochas. I usually drink coffee with cream and sugar, or with flavored creamer. Sometimes I like coffee black, but it has to be a high quality coffee. I like drinking espresso with no sugar, or with a lot of froo froo stuff added to it. Basically, I just love coffee in any variety and especially with Disoronno or Frangelico.
