Hi, SoCal cat owners! I was wondering if anyone's kitties down there showed any unusual behavior today (prior to the Yucaipa quake). Up here, in 1987, we had a 5.7 (epicenter about 5 miles down the road) one evening when I was at work, and when I came home about midnight, my yard cats were huddled with my dog on the front porch (although they were quite tame ferals, these cats didn't like dogs & were fearful of the house). They refused to come out to eat leftovers; I took this as a warning & took my kids up to Mammoth Lakes & there was a 6.5 about 6 hours later.
Another time, my horse was free-ranging in the backyard & came on the back steps & rattled the door. About the third time, she was really giving the door some severe impact. I went over to tell her to stop when a 5.7 hit!
I'd love to hear if anyone noticed any other behaviors in their pets.
Thanks, Susan

My cats didn't react at all. It was shaking and rolling, and SunLee continued to lay on my monitor, Simba continued to play with his crinkle ball, and Shane slept through it.

Goodness gracious So. Cal!
We just put some friends on a flight back to L.A. this morning, they had no idea! They should've phoned home and talked to their cats......

We are located not far from Yucaipa. My fifteen year old is mad at the cat! Lucky usually gives us fair warning by being hyper and running thru the house a few days in advance. Lucky is a very lazy laid back cat. Nothing! Nothing for Sunday either. Perhaps she has given up warning us because we just keep telling her she is a silly kitty. The old dog that we used to accuse of warning us is no longer with us (just recently), so perhaps that is what our problem is.
