My cat is recovering from a car accident. The vet said that if he could not feel anything in his leg, it would need to be removed. I found out that he can move it when he is in an umconfortable position but I think that he doesn't move it because he knows that it will hurt him. Can a cat still move it's leg when it cannot feel anything in it?

It would depend on which nerves are damaged. You write that the vet said "if"....does that mean that the vet hasn't tested yet? It's pretty easy to test for relfexes in a leg.

Sorry about your kitty.

The vet has checked his damaged leg but there was no reflex.

Your cat will get along fine without the leg, if that is what you are worried about, should it come to that measure. Movement could be involuntary at this point, especially if there is nerve damage.

Good luck with him
