Well I went in for my semi-annual teeth cleaning and check-up. I've had this crowned molar on my lower left that has been bothering me, not hurting, but pressure and cold sensitive to the extent that I can't chew on the left side of my mouth.

I HAVE TO HAVE ANOTHER FREAKIN' ROOT CANAL
!!!

I just about a couple of months ago put over $2000 dollars in my mouth where I broke off an eyetooth (one root-canal, built up and pegged, *two* crowns).

Sheesh, talk about putting your money where your mouth is ... I'm never going to get that credit card paid off
...

I know how ya feel. I could have a nice new car with all the money I've put into my mouth. Having had 3 root canals of my own, I can sympathize with you. Hope everything goes well. Your dentist should give you a discount since you're such a regular customer

I've never had a filling or root canal, thank goodness! I'm not one to like having my mouth bothered with. Although now my wisdom teeth are coming in
It can't be worse than having your tonsils out though so I think I can handle it!

Good luck with you root canal!

ahhhhhhhh.... I hate the dentist chair! And I have to go have a crown replaced next week, too.

I'm in for a lot of major work coming up... I was brought up with the "if it doesn't hurt and didn't break, it's fine" mentality so I've neglected my teeth and it's finally caught up with me. They look fine, doc said all things considered they're in phenomenal shape, but several will have to be drilled on

So I feel your pain! I'll be emptying the bank account into my mouth too!

Oh, I hear ya Cindy. I too have spent thousands and just had an eye tooth break with the first crown, and then they had to redo it and use posts to secure it. A LOT of money and time, but there's no way I'm walking around with a hole where an eye tooth is!
I also have another root canal, but have no idea when I can afford a crown for it.

Vespacat, that sounds a LOT like what happened to my eyetooth and what I had to have done, although what he did with that was to also crown the tooth behind it (which had been slated for a crown---later,) and attach them together so it would be a stronger fix.

I couldn't get an appointment with the dentist in this office who will be doing the root canal until July 6th (although they told me if it starts hurting CALL!) Fortunately I'm not in any pain, just can't chew on the left side of my mouth.

Which was really problematical a couple of weeks ago when I had a very bad mouth burn on the RIGHT side of my mouth
! I was trying to chew with my incisors. Didn't work very well!

I never had a root canal, had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted though, or actually they had to operate them out had many stiches.
But I love my dentist, he's so good looking, and wears these really tight shirts so I can see his muscles

It helps if the dentist is good looking..
But yes it is a lot of money, but what needs to be done needs to be done.
Hope everything goes well.

I have a couple of crown and a bridge because about 20 yrs ago I still had a BABY TOOTH!!! of course it cracked and all this dental work had to be done about 6 weeks before my dental insurance was to kick in!!! I really wanted to wait but dentist said NO!!

Anyhow my teeth are in good shape.

I am in the process of having all of my old fillings replaced. I never knew that they had to be replaced! The dentist did show me the x-rays with all of the air pockets under the old fillings. I have one that she did 5 weeks ago that still hurts!

Honey, my mouth is worth a million dollars! I was in the dentist's chair for 2 Darn HOURS this morning. I am sore and feel sad.

Here is a hug from me.

Heck, I have had so many root canals that they do not bother me. I also have 2 dental implants. $4000 each!

The Dentist scare me UGH!!! I hate them and I know they suck money out of you everytime you go.. A few years ago I had over 1500.00 in work done.
and I really didn't see much of a difference. Also the caps that had been put in have all fallen out so all that money went down the drain so to speak.. I am going back to have the replaced this summer.

I don't think I'll complain anymore! I have a gap where I had a molar break and since it wasn't visible just told them to pull it. At the time I couldn't afford $1600 for a bridge and it's never bothered me so I've just left it. For $4000 apiece I might even consider leaving a gap in the front and just never open my mouth
!
