Hi everyone,
My name is Kirsten and I've just joined the forums. I have recently adopted a 2 year old silver striped tabby from an animal shelter here in Melbourne. Her name is Charlotte, and she is adorable. She is sweet natured, both stand-offish and loving, and I love her to bits. She isn't a lap cat, nor is she very 'smoochy', but is very human-oriented: she prefers my company than being alone and since the day I adopted her has been sleeping on the bed at night with me.
Her 'worst' behaviours, if you could call them that, are meowing to go out at night, vomiting every 2 weeks or so, and the occassional swipe at an over-zealous human hand. Other than that she is the most obedient cat I've ever known.
Her cutest behaviour is sleeping right under the bed covers with me - this is a new thing she started several weeks ago. Usually she only does it early in the morning, but on the colder nights she stays there the whole time.
As for me, I work in higher education and come from a long line of cat-obsessed humans. Even my father, in his 60s, has 2 cats and is totally in love with both of them. Anyway, I am looking forward to learning lots more about cats on this site, and meeting lots of other cat-crazy humans as well!
Kirsten
