If you like ribs what is your favorite sauce?

I am sitting here about to make some BBQ Ribs but can't decide what sauce I would like!

Suggestions please!

There's no place like home
This may be local, but Smokestack BBQ sauce is all I use. I can't visit my out of state family without bringing them a couple bottles.

Ribs.......just bought a couple slabs on the way home today. Will probably slow smoke them up this weekend with some Blue's-Hog spice rub and Smokestack sauce. YUMMY!!

Kansas City is the home of the BBQ!!

I have heard that! I have recipes from Kansas City in one of my books!

I think I am going to have Maple Chipotle Ribs

I take a small bottle of any BBQ sauce, add 1/2 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce (few shakes), large chunk (2 tbsp) butter, heat that all up and put it on the ribs when they are about 1/2 hour from being cooked. Makes a tasty sauce.

Our daughter's boyfriend came over for a visit from Italy and he LOVED them. He is coming again in July and has specifically asked for them.

I love doing ribs! They get so tender that they practically fall off the bone!
I'm really old fashioned though. I like to use Kraft "Regular" BBQ sauce. Their other sauces are good to like Hickory Smoked. I don't like spicy weird sauces like Bullseye though. It isn't actually "hot" spicy, but whatever the heck is in that sauce overpowers the taste of the ribs. Please tell us how the ribs were and what you used! They must be long gone by now. How did you cook them Ashely?

I wish there were more!

I was lazy tonight and didn't feel like watching the BBQ all night so I cheated a bit

I ended up using Maple BBQ sauce and Chipotle sauce.

I boiled them in the sauces, water, and an onion first then BBQed basting with the Maple BBQ sauce. Served with corn on the cob and a small salad to start

Mmmmmmm...
-boiling them isn't cheating. That's how I do them on the BBQ. I boil them in water for about 50 minutes, salt them, then I put the sauce on and keep basting them on the BBQ grill until the sauce cramelizes.
I've never heard of boiling them in water, sauces and onion though. How much water and how much sauce? Did you cut the onion up much for the boiling?

I almost never boil, but cook entirely on the BBQ.

But when I do, I put the ribs in a giant pot, and toss in the onion. The onion is chopped fairly large so I can strain them (I don't like getting onion pieces on the ribs when I transfer to the BBQ). Most people I know chop them very fine though. Then I use about 700 mL of sauce (more if I want a stronger flavour). After that just fill with water till the ribs are covered

50-60 minutes low boil, 15 minutes on the BBQ and

Hmmmm interesting way of doing it. I guess you could really get some extra flavor by boiling the ribs with sauce.

Hmm...it must have been the night for ribs. We ordered from Carson's, which is a very popular rib place here in Chicago. The ribs are so tender, and the sauce...oooh the sauce!
With sides of au gratin potatoes & cole slaw...mmm...heaven!

The House BBQ Sauce is easier than possible, great for ribs, chicken, burgers, pretty much anything you'd use a BBQ sauce for. Also a good marinade for chicken or pork chops.

2 cups ketchup
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 or 2 good sized cloves garlic, minced or pressed
freshly grated ginger to taste

All measurements are approximate. Just whisk it together, adjust balance to taste, and use. Keeps forever in the fridge. When the pot is getting down, just add more of everything and whisk together again.

That sounds good Fran, but it's too much work!
I like to get it out of a bottle. Ribs are so easy to do it's like cheating!

Okay, we put this on more than just ribs... it is goooood, if you like stuff a little different, and really really spicy

Jack Daniels Original BBQ #7 (in the bottle, not the bag!)
2 heaping teaspoons of minced garlic(you can use less, we looooove garlic)
1/4cup of Jack Daniels whiskey
1/2-3/4 cup of chipotles in adobo sauce(make sure the peppers are minced)

I also carmelize onions with a little sauce to serve on it.

mmmmm, good!

I absolutely love ribs - haven't cooked them for years though, I do get them everytime I go out to eat at my favourite restaurant, though!
