TCS and Dogomania Members

This thread is going to be a bit unorthodox by TCS standards, but I feel it is a necessary step at this time.

First off to any Dogomania members joining here, welcome. We are pleased to have you as TheCatSite members.

If you are activating a membership to be able to view a particular thread in question that you have heard about on your site, I am sorry, but that thread has been removed from the public boards for all members. One of our members has violated our rules by directly linking to your site when complaints were posted. I would like to apologize of behalf of TheCatSite, as some of the posts in that thread were not very kind to members of your site. We don't allow that sort of thing to stand here. Let me also thank KJS and Chaos for posting here in a calm and well-mannered way when they must have been upset after reading a thread containing many negative comments about their 'home'.

I am posting this thread to make certain that all understand TCS's position regarding retribution caused by this thread. If you are joining here to participate in some type of board war, our moderating team will be doing everything possible to keep this off our forums.

And, more importantly, if you are a TCS member looking to join Dogomania to stir up trouble on their board, please understand that you are putting your membership here at risk.

That was very well written. I don't know the whole story nor do I want to get involved. I just thought you should be commended for the above as it is very well done and I think you deserve to be complimented on that.

I agree with Laura, Deb. I have no idea what has transpired as I was away from the boards for some time but I'm glad that the Mods are taking a positive stand on what seems to be a negative situation. There's no need for any trouble especially between animal lovers...

I read about the whole fiasco over at Dogo. I have been a member both here and there for quite a while. It's too bad that people bash other message boards just to get a rise. Thanks for posting Deb.

It's not only too bad, it's also against the rules here. We do not allow flaming, period. Whether that be against another member here or another message board, we don't allow it. And we especially don't allow complaints about other boards with names named and links given. All it will do is promote board wars, which are unproductive at best, destructive at worst. (Again, our apologies for not seeing the thread before it got to this point...)

We have far more in common with Dogomania than we have in differences. I've looked around over there, and while some of the methods of delivery differ, the message is very similar. Both sites promote Spay/Neuter. Both sites are strongly against back yard breeding, pet stores, and puppy/kitten mills. Both sites do their best to educate people to be responsible pet owners, and give the best advice possible for the benefit of the animal. TCS is more conservative when it comes to moderating, but every board has its own rules and practices which is totally up to the board's owner.

That is correct, because if a moderator had read your first post early on, the thread would have been yanked immediately.

i never did join up and i wouldn't have either, i was just upset but your right, it isn't worth risking membership here, this place is awesome

Well said Deb ...What I find a shame is that all us like minded people had to meet in this...less than pleasant way...be assured when news of a cat/kitten related nature appears I will share it with you all

P.S did you know that one of the 'glitches' at Dogo is that we can not post the word cat....seriously!...we have to say C A T ot C@t to make it show up...wierd huh?
