My cat gets into these fits of running around like a madcat. Luckly, she doesn't really destory anything in her fits. The last couple of weeks however she's been throwing up her food a lot, and most of it is still whole. I don't really know for sure but I think it's these madcat fits that are making her throw up. We feed her hard food.
So my question is, is there a way to get her out of these fits? My parents thought that after we got her sprayed she'd stop (our last cat was the same way until she was sprayed) but she hasn't. I think maybe she needs another cat to play with because when we first got her we had another cat. Or, if there really isn't a way to get her to stop should we try a lighter food? Any suggestions on lighter food? I think it might just be her food because she's always been crazy but the throwing up is recent.
Thank you!

I think the best thing to do might be to take your cat to your vertinarian, because the throwing up (especially it being almost whole food) signifies a problem. Hope this helps!!!

How old is your cat???

I doubt that the running crazy thing is making her throw up. Doesn't sound right to me. When my cats were on a dry-only diet, they'd overeat, then overDRINK, and poof -- Jessie would barf up her food, still whole. (mine are all on canned only now, very controlled)

Snickers, my eldest, has this thing he does after he gets done eating; he runs madly through the house, up the stairs, to the basement, to each window. He picks fights with the other cats, with walls, you name it; every single time after he eats. And he eats the most. and he NEVER throws up his food! So I doubt running madly around like a crazy cat makes them puke...

I agree, get your cat to the Vet, and maybe switch foods... they make so many different types of dry food (for sensitive stomachs, no less) and maybe try some canned?

I don't think the running around like having a crazy fit (which is pretty normal) has anything to do with the vomitting.

Thank you all for the help, I actually feel stupid for asking now. I really didn't think the running around was the cause because she would have been throwing up for longer then but I didn't want to let it go by.

I'll look into canned and sensitive stomach food. She's three though so I hope she'll take to it.

Thanks again!

I'm sorry, but this doesn't sound like diet-induced vomitting. That usually occurs when a switch is made from one kind of food to other. I'm not ruling it out...it might be a sensitivity to something in the food. But before you assume that the vomitting is caused by food, I think it's a good idea to rule out any health problem that might be causing it.

I agree with what every above says. The running around like that is called "the rips" in my house!!
