ok...as most of you know i have to redo my daughters bedroom, and there is some debate over it at the moment and i would like to get some opinions...this is what her room looked like before...

ok here's the debate...the whole room has to be sheetrocked and textured...so that means the tree in the corner is gone...my mother thinks i should redo the tree, however i have a forest in my hallway so i thought i could do her room totally different and put a chair rail around the room, do stripes below and above i found some really cute little animals i would like to paint on the walls, the walls above the chair rail would be pink, and i think with the forest in the hall we would be ok not to have a tree in the bedroom...what do you think?

WOWWIE! You are amazing!!

I wish I had flat ceilings, you are lucky girl!!! If my daughter had flat ceilings, I'd do a sky scene on her ceiling. (I noticed your ceiling is blue there). Either a blue sky with puffy white clouds & butterflies stuck onto the ceiling... OR a nighttime sky... navy blue with sparkles glued onto the ceiling.

(my ceilings are that icky rough stuff)

Since you're starting from scratch, sketch several ideas out & see which ya like best. Trees or no trees, your ideas sound great and you seem to be very creative!

thank you! i had actually thought about doing some shooting stars in the corner above her bed in glow in the dark paint and putting glitter for the tails on them...
the ideas i had came from the wrapping paper i used on my daughters birthday...here is a pic

You are really talented!
I love keeping the tree if you ever can. The glow in the dark stars and planets are really cool too. If you ever get lazy and don't want to paint, they sell the stick-on types for almost nothing and you get a lot of stars and planets that can stick to the ceiling and walls to make a galaxy!

My neice had her room remodeled too, and she had to start over. She had my sister-in-law do big nautical stripes of pink and then bought turtle stencils and painted green turtles in between the stripes. They also painted ivy to "grow up the walls" and wrap around some of the stripes. It's very cool!

I lvoe her old room and I love the wrapping paper...but, her old room is her old room... now is the prefect time for you to try something new. Would it upset your daughter if her room didn't look the same?

i don't think so...i think she would like something new...and she still has the forest in the hallway, so i think the change would be good for her, i'm hoping to make her like it enough that she will want to sleep in there, she has never wanted to sleep in there, and i need to get her out of my room and in her own
