Hey Everyone,
I posted about Alex on Fur Pictures a few weeks ago. We've been trying to find him a home for several months, but he keeps getting passed over for all the kittens in foster care.

He's a couple of years old and was abandoned when his previous owner died. Was pretty beat up when we took him in. Has since been neutered/tested, etc...
Alex is huge, (possibly part Maine Coon) sweet, gentle and patient. Loves to give head butts and sit on your lap and purr.

If you know anyone who'd be willing to give this wonderful boy a second chance, please let me know. We're in Cincinnati, but I'd be willing drive a reasonable distance for a good home. I hate to single out any of our kitties in foster care, but Alex is such a sweetheart! We've tried Petfinder and the newspaper, but no luck so far. Please send good vibes that we can find a great home for Alex.

Great news - Alex, the Maine Coone mix I posted about in Fur Pictures and Cat S.O.S. found a great home this weekend. Our rescue group coordinator said the family has two other rescued cats and just fell in love with this big, sweet boy.

Also, Claire (my Pete's sister) is continuing to do well with her new "Dad."
Looks like this little sweetheart has finally found her forever home!

Thanks to everyone for the good vibes and prayers.

He is a beautiful cat. Maine Coons are so loving. My KittenKiya will not bother me for pets, but will sit and look at me, and when I ask " ChanChan, you want some lovings?" he puts his head down and kneads with his front paws. He is such a gentleman.

Hey guys,
I need good vibes for Alex, please. His new "mom" just called and said they want to return him tonight because he's been peeing all over the house.
She apparently talked to our rescue group coordinator earlier this week who told her to get him to the vet and gave her plenty of advice. It sounded like the problem was stress related because he did fine at first and never had a problem in foster care. She seemed willing to give him some time, but now apparently not. Our coordinator had said if Alex is returned, he'll have to go back to the site. This just breaks my heart. This poor boy was abused, abandoned and still kept his sweet, patient nature. Does anyone know of any Maine Coon rescue groups that might give him a chance? I'm going to check on the internet now. I just hate this!

Oh, no! He sounds very sweet (I can't see the picture, probably because it was posted a while ago, but I feel bad for him regardless) Good luck!!!

He probably developed UTI or cystitis. It can be caused by stress, so, stress of moving into a new home could have easily led to this. Did the woman take him to a vet or is she just going to return him?
He needs to be seen by a vet ASAP, because male cats can get blocked and that is life threatening.

Found out last night, she had agreed to take him to vet on Mon., but then canceled the appointment. We'll get him there ASAP. Our group coordinator has agreed we need to identify the problem and not return him to the site right away. We're not a shelter and really not set up for the long term fostering of adult cats, so I've already contacted a couple of Maine Coon rescue groups hoping they'll be able to help.

Prayers & vibes being sent out to Alex!! I wish that the new adopter would have just confined him to one room for a few days, and tried Feliway, & vet care, etc., but who knows the affairs of the heart of this woman. It is just heartbreaking for poor Alex, to have to be bounced around like this!! Maybe Alex sensed something about his new home and/or family that he didn't trust....Oh, Alex's True Family - please show up SOON!!

Do you have any photos to post. i didn't get to his last one. I am sorry he had to be returned. With a little love and patience he may have gotten better. But maybe he just didn't like it there.

My cat has been peeing everywhere too. One vet was no help at all, and I took him to a different vet, to get a second opinion. But since being put on a new diet (Waltham's so) my cat had been doing much better. I imagine poor Alex is having some sort of urinary problem caused by stress. Doesn't sound like the family was any good after all, as they didn't even try to help Alex with his problem.

Definitely sounds like a stress UTI. I hope you can get him to the vet soon for an exam. Once he's on medication and the proper diet, I'm sure he'll do fine. Good luck to you & Alex both!
