He is probably peeing in there and has blood in his urine. My cat has been peeing in the sink, I caught him. Take you cat to a vet, he most likely has urinary problems.

How big are the spots? If they are like big pin pricks and many of them, it is most likely flea dander that has fallen off and turns back into blood spots when wet. If bigger than that, you have a different problem.

Why are you bathing a cat every two days? That alone could make him bleed depending on what you are bathing him in?

I've read that cats with UTIs sometimes like to pee on smooth, hard surfaces.

I hope that it is nothing serious but if you see blood & do not know where it is coming from...it's time for a trip to your vet. Your kitty may be in pain & need treatment. Please let us know what you find out.

A friend of mine found blood in her sink a few days ago. She ended up catching her cat, who is Dori's brother, peeing in the sink. He had a uti and is now on antibiotics and special food.

I agree its time to take your cat to the vet, i have two siamese who have uti problems and they on occasion will pee on my bathroom floor and it has blood in it, they do have a surgery if it becomes a problem, since my cats got the surgery they at least dont get blocked up and infected as easy, they were going to the vet at least 2 times a year with problems from it, now its rarely.

Get a flea comb and a white paper towel. Comb your kitty over the towel. If your boy has fleas you will see small dark specks that come off onto the towel. If you dampen the towel, these specks will appear bloody. This would be an indication of fleas present on your cat. If fleas are present, go to your vet and get a good spot-on type of flea preventative such as Advantage or Frontline (don't use the Hartz or other "over-the-counter" types - there are dangers associated with these) and treat your kitty as directed by your vet.

Hope this helps ... oh and by the way - may I ask about your user ID?

I recommend the same as everyone else. That is how we found Max had a UTI, He pittled on a plastic bag then on the bathroom floor like he was trying to show me, he never does that.. We found the same thing on smooth surfaces
poor little things. I hate when our little babies get sick.

You don't have to yank it through his fur, you know! *grin* You can get a little wider-toothed comb and try that, or a brush should work as well, but I think you need to determine where the blood is coming from ... if it is fleas or if it is something different.

As for the ID, that is what I thought (happen to be a Dale, Jr. fan myself - no offense taken *smile*) but just wanted to be sure. My mother is such a huge Dale, Jr. fan and absolutely cannot abide Jeff, so whenever Jeff is leading, I declare I can hear her just screaming all the way over at my house! *grin* I am a new Nascar fan, but have really become addicted!

Its not a urinary thing. my cat does the same thing he is also a male and i know he is not peeing in the sink and they are tiny little dots of blood. I think that it is from fleas because my cat had fleas i got rid of them and the blood spots went away now he has fleas again and the spots are back but i'm not totally sure so was just doing some more investigating.  when you bath your cat the fleas will hide on the cats face where it doesn't get so wet and they can be really hard to see.

I noticed this today too really bad. I know my cat has fleas and I'm taking care of that for the 2nd time in less than 3 months! However, I also noticed she needs her nails cut. So, I think it's a combination of the flea dirt and her scratching herself with long nails.
