We came home from work today like usual.....took a shower, started getting dinner together.....then we realized we hadn't seen Sammy since we got home. We searched the WHOLE apartment twice over. I was really getting worried, because, if he got out, he had to have been out for at LEAST an hour, if not longer, and I figured he'd have followed someone out of the building if he had the time. So, I went about looking in stupid places where he couldn't be (but I HAD to look, anyway), practically ready to panic, and my bf went looking through the building. Thank goodness, he found Sammy in the basement, hiding under the stairs, scared and trembling. He's lounging against the balcony door, exhausted from his adventure and just about sleeping, like nothing happened. I'm so glad he's ok, but he gave us quite a scare! We still can't figure out when he got out (aka who he got past).

Aaack! How scary, Leli!
Oh dear, I'm so thankful you found Sammy so quickly!
Bet he is so happy to snuggled up safely tonight!
Now, Sammy, no more scaring your Mommy like that!

This happened some months back...I was only a little worry because he couldn't have gone far:

Rugby made his third great escape the other day. This time through
the A/C access door into the attic space of the apartment complex. I spend two day crawling in the pitch-black, insulation-filled attic over the ceilings of four other apartments hunting for him. When I
finally found him, or rather, he found me, he didn't want to
come home!
That little trouble maker actually prefers
dirt over cleaniness, labor over relaxation,
starvation over being well-fed, abandonment over being
loved, all in the name of freedom and to explore the world on his own.

He's back to normal, but he must smell funny because Lola was hissing at him off and on all night. I guess she thought she would be the boss if he were gone.......lol

The baby one? Yeah, I miss tiny baby Sammy. He used to sleep on the bed in between the pillows
. He's 12 lbs easy right now and very long, so he certainly doesn't fit there anymore. He prefers to sleep at the bottom and strech out so we have nowhere to put our feet

This reminds me of when we found out that Joey knows how to open up screen doors. I was on the phone at the time and I came walking out and saw our screen door open enough for the cat to get out (And just to let you know this was at night). So I ask my parents "Where's the cat?" and they said "We don't know.." So I figured he was probably just hiding somewhere..so I go and close the door and go back to my room. Cuz usually I'll get to hyperventilating and find him like under my bed. Well about 10 minutes later I started to get a little worried..so I grab his food bag and shake it because he usually comes running when I do that. I keep looking around and..nothing..Next thing I notice my dad is outside looking and now I'm thinking "Oh GREAT!!" So I run to our screen door..flip on the light..and there's Joey sitting on the porch..wanting back in! Thank God he didn't take off!!

I'm used to opening up any door and automatically putting my foot up to block the cats. It looks kind of funny if I do it other places than my house however.

You must have panicked!! Memorial Day weekend, Annabelle pushed the screen out of the window in the living room and jumped out the window (close to the ground, thank goodness) and Lucy and Daisy proceeded to follow. We caught them sneaking around the side of the house. All three are home safe and sound now.
