Zoey is still thin... but she has a good build on her... I have tried all sorts of things to get her to gain wt and fill out... all she does with the extra calories is grow up not out... I know there are high energy formulas for dogs but anyone found one for a cat??... she is on a mix of feline caviar and Evo .. plus canned and homemade

Why do you want her to "grow out"? Sounds like she's healthy and maintaining weight. Maybe she's just one of those lean and rangy type girls!!

How old is she? Sounds fairly normal for a kitten. She will begin growing out when she's finished growing up.

I have a cat that looks fat but is not according to the vet and two other cats that look anorexic but again according to the vet are fine. Usually if I am worried about their size I just check with the vet. (Obviously I am lousy at determining their correct size myself)
(Maybe I should worry about the one that I think is ok)

Cats are supposed to be lean and muscular, not fat and lazy. Metabolism plays a big part as does exercise. If you cat isn't showing skeletal muscle and is okay in all other areas, eating, litter pan habits, drinking water, active- I wouldn't worry to much-

I worry about my kitten aerowyn also
SHe is about 11 months old right now, and doesnt weigh an ounce over five pounds. I can always feel her hip bones and her backbone, but I cant feel her ribs as easily... and when I pick her up I see a fat little rounded tummy!!!

our cats might just be small cats
someone told me that when I too made a thread because I was concerned she was too skinny
Look at your cats paws, are they bigger than they should be?? Then she will get bigger
Aerowyn looks like her paws are the right size for her right now...

it looks funny because I have a very small cat and a very large cat
LIke a midget and a giant. :p

They look skinny but really they are in good health

Kittens do experience "grow spurts" and can look a little thin and gaunt during. Just keep feeding your little one a good, high-quality kitten food formula with the extra calories that are needed for proper development.

Best of luck,

Gaye
