Hello all. Mr Pants is a six year old six toed hemingway cat . He recently started urinating in laundry baskets and other strange places around the house. He has also become very stand-offish and I have noticed blood in his urin. Pants will be visiting the vet within the next couple days but i'm curious to here if anyone else has experienced this or anything similar. My guess is Mr. pants is suffering from a bladder or urinary track infection. Mr pants and i will appreciate any response, thanks.

Steve, I would get him in quicker than a few days. UTI can develop into something serious and it sounds like that is what Mr. Pants has. He needs antibiotics fairly quickly if that is indeed what is going on with him- Please do not get angry with him (if you are) he can't help himself, he hurts-

Steve...Mr. Pants needs to go to the vet right away. If there is blood in the urine I think that it is an emergency.

And before you go, please give dear little Mr. Pants (I ~love~ that name!!) a couple of gentle chin-scritches from me, won't you?

Please update us and if we can be of any assistance to you at all, don't hesitate to let us know.

Best of luck,

Gaye

My cat is experiencing the same thing, he has FIC. Which is the same as cystitis in humans. I hope that is not what Mr. Pants has, as it appears there is no real treatment for FIC and my cat is not improving much. Mr. Pants could also have UTI for which they will prescribe antibiotics or crystals for which he will need change in diet. You should also watch Mr. Pants to make sure he can pee, because if he can't pee at all, he could be blocked and thus it's an emergency.

I hope your kitty feels better!!! I also love the name Mr. Pants
I sometimes call elliot Mr Fattums, but Mr. Pants is the coolest name ever!!! The only thing that comes close to the awesomness of the name Mr. Pants is the name Thingy... or Poop... yes.. It would be cool to have a cat named poop
