I don't know how much they weigh (9 weeks old, one is bigger than the other anyway). There is a chart on the back of the bag and I just guesstimated from that. I've been putting out 1/4 of a cup twice a day. They eat a bit here and there throughout the day. If I've put more than that in at a time they seem to take forever to eat it up, so I think this is probably ok, but I'm not sure. Right now I'm feeding them Iams kitty food (same as what they had at their foster home) and will switch them over to something better when we get near the end of the bag.

i'm sure someone else will post something more exact but when they are small i just fed mine as much as they would eat using the back of the packet as a rough guide. when they are small they burn of so many calories being so naughty and active. my little one (three months) eats as much as his mother but is still normal sized because he runs around like a lunatic all day.

i think one of the mods has a website explaining how much a cat should be fed depending on weight.

if in doubt ask their foster carer if poss or ring the vet for a chat. most vets give advice over the phone for free.

That sounds good....I've got my foster kittens on Eukanuba. I feed them a "handful" a day.

i remember reading in a cat magazine it is good to free feed kittens, (leaving food out at all times for them...) but not sure the info is true or not. then after a year start feeding them by the directions. hopefully someone can clarify that.

I am of the opinion that growing kittens need to eat as much and as often as they want. I've said it before, I'm sure I'll say it again, but the rule in my house is that if the kittens are in the kitchen, feed them.
