Where in Ohio do you live? If it is anywhere near Ravenna, my shelter has a low cost mobile clinic every month and males are $15 to get neutered and females are $20 to get spayed. It is an additional $25 for a shot package but that is optional -recommended...but optional. We are full on females but we actually are looking for more males to get in to the next one on July 3rd I believe it is.

Sounds like you have a lot of excitement going on. Great pics. I hope everyone continues to be healthy. I have a full grown orange tabby male, and one who is 4 weeks old tomorrow. Both are the most laid back kitties ever. The grownup one, Garfield, is a big love-bug.

With four kids, I suggest you choose the one to keep (if you haven't already!) Otherwise, each kid will choose a different kitten, and you'll end up with some disappointed kids.

Barry...perhaps a transport can be arranged between you and Jen. $15 for a neuter is a steal and you could finally let your male out of confinement.

Update on the neuter....I found a local doc that does neutering for 35 bux.....
That doesn't seem like anything compared the the 11 kittens I have here in the house as of today....
Thats EXPENSIVE....
Neutering seems so insignificant now...
hahaha

So if you get clues....
Cali had 5 kittens....
She did very well.....SO PROUD.....

Shes in her own Dog Kennel now...
And mothering like the other...
Even though they are caged with let out times and such...They are still room seperated untill the kittens can walk and follow etc...
I will post pics later tommorow of the new kittens once momma makes herself more presentable for the camera.

Thank you so much for all your help here....
You all rock....
P.S. how many men are on this site? I feel like the minority...Even my fiance'e asked me if I was the only man...

I just wanted to say that, in addition to helping control the cat overpopulation problem and reducing disease, you will most likely be really pleased with the behavioral results of neutering Fred. Spaying also helps the girls' personalities too. Everyone calms down quite a bit.

If anyone else needs a cat neutered for ridiculously cheap let me know. Spaying too but there is a good chance you might not get in right away. Normally we take names and add to the list and we are currently calling people who signed up 9 months ago. The sad part is when these people we call are like "finally she keeps having babies!". But what I would do is take them in myself the day of and if anyone cancels then get the female in. So if anyone lives near me and is interested let me know.

i got a bit confused after a while, and this is a bit off topic but...
But Cali has that Natural CALICO spirit....You know the “I hate people unless itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s my choice and my time" attitude...
is that real? i have a calico and she is the same way... is that just the way calis are?

Jen..can you post this in SOS as a separate post. Sometimes people don't read others threads.

Well disturbing news today.....

The kittens are great....
But on this fathers day they are without their father....

Earlier this morning Fred got out the door again...The neighbor is a cat murderer...He saw Fred in his yard and shot him. All because Fred made his dog bark....

I am infuriated....
Just speechless....
He had a Neutering appt tommorow too ;(
I wish the law would punish people who mistreat others pets...
But this as usual will come down on me...As was told to me by a freind...If you don't want your cat shot...Don't let it outside and in the neighbors yard...
There is an outdoor cat in this neighborhood that tears my Garbage apart every night....Don't see me shooting or killing any animals.

Please check local staues ... In most places theanimal has to be attacking livestock or you in order to shot a domestic animal.. I am far from an expert but someont in my area recieved jail time for a simliar stunt..

Barry...I'm so sorry. This is another reason why I'm in favor of domesticated cats being kept indoors. It isn't a matter that cats can be subjected to diseases and accidents...but people who do not like cats are now going to extremes like poisoning and shooting.

Fred where are you? I MISS YOU BUDDY....Come home to daddy soon....I can't take the worrying.....ughhhh....He needs to be home for his appt...

On another note someone asked about calicos....Although I can not speak for ALL calicos...
I can say every calico I have ever had has that "Calico Temper"....Not sure why...And I've had more then a handfull over my lifetime....
They all are very independent...Very loving to the MAIN provider in their lives...But only seem to want the attention when its THEIR time to want it...Not yours....
Not sure how other people think..But thats my observation....
Other people who own calicos have said it to me as well....
In fact the kittens that were born..Only the CALICO squeeks uncontrollably when you try to pick it up to check its daily status....
Calico's have major temper issues and really just require that much more love...
On another note they harbor some of the more extreme behaviors and can really get you laughing sometimes with their antics....
Just my humble oppinion....

I don't agree because I have known some very very sweet calicos but my mom does have one that is the nastiest little thing when she doesn't want to be bothered, which is most of the time.

On another note, I don't know how it is everywhere else but the humane officer at my shelter will go check it out if someone shoots a domestic animal. One lady called in to sign up for our clinic and she said she wanted 2 cats neutered and thats it, then she said "we have about 18 more but they are outdoor cats and when they get out of hand, we just shoot them" and I turned around and handed her contact information to the humane officer and she went to check it out.

I am pretty sure you cannot just go around shooting domestic animals especially if the neighbor knows that it is your cat. Call the police and say that the neighbor shot your cat and if it turns out to not be your cat that was shot (hopefully) then tell them that he shoots any animal that comes onto his property if it makes his dog bark. That is horrible. Also call the Humane Society of Allen County (419-991-1775) if that is the closest one to you. Or Angels for Animals Rescue League at 419-339-3728. They should have a humane animal control officer of some sort and at least ask if they can do anything about it.

Well Update time....

GOOD NEWS....I FOUND FRED!!!

Yesterday DADDY was found. He appears to be in good health except for a few scratches..He's in the kennel on quarentine untill his NEW appt at the vet for neutering....

I confronted my neighbor that cat killer....I explained to him, I did NOT find it appropriate for him to be shooting domestic animals...If he had problems he could call Animal Control...I also told him If I caught him shooting any more domestic animals I would do everything in my power to make sure the police were notified he was 1. Dishcharging a weapon in a housing area...2. Killing domestic animals for no reason. Finally I told him I was serious about this and I hoped he would change his way before we became "BIG ENEMIES"
This guy is one of them outdoor freaks who thinks he can shoot anything that walks in his path. He gets off killing and torturing his prey. Maybe his mommy should have paid more attention to him...

The kittens are all doing great...Fat and almost walking on the first litter.....
I finally found two seperate dark hidden places where the Mommas feel they are secluded and away from people/intrusions...
So they haven't been trying to move them to much lately...
Anyway...Pics coming soon...
Thats my update for now...
Thanks
Barry
