After a lull for a few weeks, ,there has been a veritable flood of
purebreds needing rescue all over the US this week - primarily in the
Midwest and Northeast, Middle Atlantic area and TX - and there are litter
upon litter of domestic kittens (purebred wannabees and mixes) being put
down with shelters begging us to take some more. We are desperate for
fosters or reliable, reputable rescues with space for purebreds. Meanwhile,
shelters are euthanizing large numbers of purebred wannabee kittens (many
Siamese and other mixes, etc) and begging for us to take them (as we have
helped in the past when we could), especially in the Midwest, and we're
trying to help with transport and spay/neuter as we can since we have NO
space in purebred rescue at this time. At this moment, there are 68
purebreds needing rescue of various breeds including 35 purebred/pedigreed
Manx, many Siamese and Persians and Maine Coons and a smattering of other
breeds. If you can help foster or know of a reputable rescue with space,
please let me know! Initial vetting (FIV/FELV, worming. vaccination, flea
Rx) and s/n of purebreds that we transport will be paid for at reasonable
rescue rates, we try to help pay early s/n of domestic/mix kittens we
transport as well - any additional necessary vetting must be approved on a
case by case basis, but we will do what we can as long as finances allow
it. If you have placed kittens with adopters and have their contact
information and think they might be able to foster some pre-vetted
purebreds, please do ask them and let me know, as well!
