OK so my cat is 55-57 days pregnant,I think she is having a large litter, her stomach is constantly moving and I'm feeling lots of hard lumps

she was throwing up all morning,I just went up to check on her and she can not sit still, she is up and down all the time, the kittens are going crazy in there, her belly is moving so much with the movement of them, they are not normally this active at all.

She seems more nervous then normal but she is trembling not her belly but her back right near the tail and you can also see her head trembling, just like they do when they are really scared (trembling?)

Is all of this a sign of labour or am I just panicking for nothing? will the kittens make it if they are born now? BTW she is totally happy, she is purring and affectionate with me

I'm not sure! But someone will be along shortly who can help. Have you called the vet yet? They should be able to advise over the phone.

some cats throw up or have runny stools before birth. But if in any doubt ring your vet for advice, most give it free over the phone.

Read as much as you can about cat birth so you'll be prepared. good luck, sounds like it'll be soon!

PS. have there been any other signs? discharge? not eating? belly looking lower slung?

The trembling is normal... CJ did that, too, and the vet said it's fine. I have a few questions for you, if you don't mind....
1. Are you sure that she is 55-57 days? Because that might be a little early.
2. Has there been any discharge from her bottom at all? If yes, what color?
3. How's her eating habits?
4. Has she dropped, yet? Does her stomach look any different? Lower, I mean?

1. Are you sure that she is 55-57 days? Because that might be a little early. Well she ran away for three days on the 18th April, she came back on the 20th smelling of tom car spray so im gussing that is how far she is

2. Has there been any discharge from her bottom at all? If yes, what color? Not that I have seen

3. How's her eating habits?Eating a little bit less but still eating

4. Has she dropped, yet? Does her stomach look any different? Lower, I mean?Harder but no not dropped that I can tell

She is downstairs now, since she fell pregnant she has been upstairs well away from anyone else, she is looking pretty frightened but apart from that there has been no changes

Thanks

Hmmm, I'd watch her for a while, maybe a day, and if things progress more, yet there's nothing, you'd probably need to call the vet, I would think. You can call and ask advice... most give it free over the phone. Good luck!

I would opt for what a vet can tell you, one that has seen this cat, and knows you and the cat quite well, versus what someone will tell you on the internet that is going on just the strength of what you say in your post. For peace of mind, phone a vet and find out what your options are.
