Help poor Buttons has diareah

Hi guys

My New 7 week old kitten Buttons, has been with me 2 days now and since last night i've noticed she has a bit of diareah (excuse the spelling), she is still eating her food and running around mad, could it just be the settling in phase and change of food, i've got her on whiskas junior. Is there anything else i can try at home or is it a trip to the vet? She seems lively enough and is not going constant to the loo. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks

My cat had a very bad case of diarrhea when we switched her food. She was also drinking a lot of water. Other than that she was acting fine. We did take her to the vet and they kept her overnight to give her fluids by IV.

Yes.. change of foods can do it!!

I work for a food company and the leaflets say 6 days to change but in young and very old I recommend up to 21 days.. little bit at a time

depends on if she is losing a lot of fluids- if she becomes dehydrated you could lose her. A 7 week old kitten losing fluids quickly is not a good thing.

Thanks very much for all your advice guys, Buttons had a trip to the vets today and he reckons, it's just the change in her diet, i've got some granules to put in her food and she should be right as rain in a couple of days.

Thanks again,
