'Tis shedding season and poor little me is suffering day by day
I used to take Aerius but it doens't seem to work anymore. And giving the kitties away is NOT an option at all ^_^

I was just wondering for all you allergy sufferers, whats good, right now I am trying a sample pack of Reactine, but it makes me really drowzy and I feel like I need to sleep all day long. It works, but the side effect itsn't really worth it.

Thanks in advance!

Sarah

I take Singulair (when I can afford it, expensive stuff!!) for both my asthma and my allergies, and since the Singulair isn't quite enough for the allergies on it's own, I also take Meijer brand loratadine, or the real thing- Clarinex- when I can afford it. Taking both together really helps me. My dad loves Flonaze (spelling?),which is also prescription.

Zyrtec, if you're looking for prescription drugs. It is by far the BEST allergy med I have ever taken (and I've been taking them since childhood
). And it is formulated for "indoor" allergies, i.e. animal dander, as well as "outdoor" allergies, i.e. pollen, grasses, etc.

I take Allegra and this is prescription medicine...I also have to use Nasarel nose spray to keep my nasal passages from swelling up as what is called rhinitis(sp?) not sure of the spelling on that and these work very well with the allergies I suffer from!

Reactine is Zyrtec... That is what I take and what I have found to help immensly is to take it right before bed. You sleep great and then you dont have allergy problems the next day as it lasts 24 hours. That is the only thing that helps me at all..... Good luck!!!

I take Zyrtec and Singulair. The label on both of them say to take them at bedtime.

Hmm... this is just a sample pack that lasts three days, but I can't find anything anywhere on it that says about taking it at bedtime. I will see if I can get one more pack, as I ran out, and Will try taking it before bed and see if that makes a difference.

It's the label that the pharmacy puts on that said it and the doctor told me this as well. I guess Zyrtec can make you very drowsy and that is why they tell you to take it at night.
