I've been out half the day... sweating buckets the entire time!

Thank God I'm back in my air conditioned apartment!

Isn't this weather totally unbearable? I can't take this much longer...

And of course this is the week that the a/c in my apartment builidng decided to break down...
they tell us it's going to be at least TWO WEEKS before it gets fixed! I'll be melted into a puddle by that time!

I'm not originally from Toronto either, I'm from the east coast of Canada where it NEVER gets this hot in the summer time. This is defintely making me consider moving back home...
...well not really but it might be time for a vacation home!

That sucks.
I totally understand! When I didn't have an A/C before, I thought it was just too unbearable to go without any longer.

Last summer was so mild I barely used it... I've used it more already this year!
But this is really unbelievable... I was dripping with sweat on my way home. Brutal.

Hope you've got a few fans at least!

Today its 82 (28C) heat index of 86. I don't have a/c but live in country and rely on my window blinds/fans and lots of cold beer!! The 7 day forcast has temps doing finally on Monday night. Its too early for this type of weather.
If we get too hot-the other garage with its mortar/fieldstone 1st floor is quite cool.

Wow, Jenn! You guys must be roasting up there!!!! Thankfully, it's just about to rain here and only in the mid 80's. We had some scorchin' days a few days ago. Isn't it kinda early in the summer to be reaching these scorchin' temps???? Is El Nino back again? What's going on with the weather?

Our weather has been just the opposite - it has been down in the thirties at night, and in the sixties during the day. I'm sitting here with a fleece jacket on. A lot of people have turned their heat back on. Summer weather is supposed to return next week.

Well when I got out of bed this morning (about an hour ago) I thouight gawd this is awfully hot for a winter morning! Then I realised I had left my gas heating on in the lounge. *doh*

The weather is cool here, but I'm enjoying it ATM.

Kelly, you're so lucky it's cooled down in your neck of the woods! I wish it would rain and hopefully cool down after... but it looks like we still have at least a few more days of this.
I bought more flip flops today... it's not like I don't have enough pairs already!

Gail, it doesn't sound too bad where you are.
At least you've got some space where your guaranteed a bit of cool air.

Tricia and Sam... I envy you both!
What I would do for some moderate 'normal' temperatures!

Jenn, some folks may be surprised to learn that Canada's not frozen solid all year long
. This thread may very well have enlightened some folks. I had this ditzy friend in college who asked my Canadian boyfriend at that time if Canadians had summer
I mean, it's not like Toronto is adjacent to the Arctic Circle or anything
Canada gets the full benefit of all 4 seasons, too!

LOL....we do have fans, that's the only thing saving my sanity right now

Of course they only blow around hot air but the breeze is better than nothing.

I haven't left work yet and I don't know if I want to...the a/c is on full blast here and I totally dread the walk to the subway...and the ride home on the subway...

I hope I make it home without melting...
...wish me luck!

Hey, at least the subway cars have A/C... most of them that is.
It's the buses you have to watch out for.
Good luck!

Yeah, I'm sure you're baking in Kitchener as much as we are up here.
Well, one can always use more fans!

Im starting to think that living at the top floor in an apratment building was a bad idea. Why does heat have to rise!

I dont think that more fans can stop most of the heat in my apartment

Arrgggh, I wish it we had your kind of weather, Eddie!
Looks like Rigel's in a heat wave down in Mexico too... gee, aren't we lucky.

Kelly, I know... I'm often surprised when I hear people really do think we live in igloos up here.
We're not THAT far north, for crying out loud!

I had all the windows open while all the kittens were out having their morning play, but it has got rather chilly now. I'm not really looking forward to going outside.
