); their gestation is two years!
Congratulations! Ultrasound (I assume?) makes it easier these days. We only raised a couple of colts, and 30 years ago it was a waiting game to see if a) they came back into heat, or b) much later have a manual pregnancy check done. Now you have no guessing.

Thank you all. I am over the moon. What a GRAND girl she is. and SO EASY to breed. this will be her second foal with me. Her first one, she went into heat after being at the breeders for 3 days...covered came home, was checked at 21 days and was in foal.
This time she went to the breeders. was in heat the NEXT Day covered..came home. and Is in foal

yes its a very very long gestation period. and last time, vixen went 12months and 1 week. She may do it again. She seems to like to have May babies, LOL so hopeully not the full 12 months again lol
Yup we did an ultrasound, so much easier than getting them palped. and you dont have to wait as long
She is going to be plenty taken care of that is for sure!
