what does this mean?

That sssllllllllooooooowww blink usually signals that your cat is happy, content, and full of love. Many people have learned to communicate with their cats through this blink to say "I love you." Oscar was just telling you how happy he was and how much he loves you.

I make sure to reply with a stare and and a slow blink myself when my kitties do that. It could only mean good things, it's so cute! And it can go on for minutes if I don't stop!lol Try also, to make the same googly eyes at them when they aren't doing it...mine usually respond in the same way.;P I love it!

I posted this in another thread:

Blinking is a very powerful communication as a reassurance signal and is commonly used between cats when they are sitting or lying in a hunched-up, sphinx-like position. I have used the blink to relax house cats, feral cats, and even tigers in the wild...it is important to put them at their ease by allowing them to read the signals that tell them you are not a threat." (It is also a great way to say "I love you" to your favorite feline companion.)

My cats stare at me all the time! Not in an aggressive way. Sometimes it weirds me out. I guess next time I'll see if they're doing the slow-blink thing or not!

Since I started doing "blinkies" with my cat elliot, he has become much more affectionate. I catch him often looking at me, and I give him a slow blink, we yawn at each other, he gives me a wink and then turns away, only to go look at me again a second later. So cute!!
