My cat, Julie had 3 kittens 6 weeks ago. She and the kittens have been doing great. Until today Julie has vomited four times (two of those times just being thick saliva) and she has been acting really depressed. She'll drink water but she won't eat. She'll lay around, and act uninterested in being petted. She also is a bit thinner than she should be.
The kittens are in the process of being weened, yet every once in a while they do tend to eat from Julie (about once a day - other times they have kitten dry food + kitten wet food) She already has an appointment on June 30th to get spayed. But I am really worrying about what's wrong with her? Any ideas?

Someone else more experienced may be along soon, but from what I know of cat behavior, I definitely wouldn't wait until June 30 to have her see the vet. Cats don't generally act sick unless they really are sick, and—though I could be wrong—I don't think there's any reason for a female to act sick just because she had kittens six weeks ago. For a cat, refusing food can be a sign of something pretty serious.

Hope everything turns out okay.

I agree - time to see the vet. I believe I've read on this board that a cat can't go too very long without food before their body chemistry starts to go haywire. Most vets can get a cat in the same day. Let us know how it turns out!

I am no vet..but if my foster cat or even my own cats exhibited the symptoms you are describing I would take my cat to the vet.

I agree too. I would take her to the vet, and definitely not have her put under for spaying until you notify your vet of her behavior and vomiting.

Or if you can't get her to a vet, call them and see what they think. Chances are, though, they'll just tell you to bring her in.

I don't know what was up with her but we were planning on calling the vet the next morning but that morning she was really hungry and being really sweet. She's back to normal now but I'm not sure what was wrong with her that day.

May have just been a kitty cold or virus.

Guess we'll never know.

Glad to hear she's doing better.

Oh, I am glad too. I got so worried over her. She's still wonderful now, and even in a great mood.

Glad everything is ok....make sure she doesn't have a chance to go out again. I had a friend whose cat kept getting out before she could have her spayed....she ended up with 6 litters.
