Mirah and Annie will be 9 weeks old this Saturday. But, they are still nursing! They eat a lot, they drink a ton, and the still nurse on CJ quite a bit. I've never seen kittens nurse at this age, and I've raised quite a few litters. I'm not worried, just puzzled. Shouldn't CJ be drying up? You can tell when you look at her that she is most definitely not enjoying it, but she still lays down to nurse them. I never take them off, because of Annie's condition, I figured she'd be a little behind anyway, but this much? And, Mirah still nursing too! When will they stop nursing?

They will continue to nurse for as long as CJ lets them and may even continue to try even after that. Don't worry needlessly about it, CJ will stop them when she is ready to stop them.

I used to laugh at Lexus and her babies. Poor Lex couldn't even lay down without all 5 of her babies come screaming into whatever room Lex was in and try to nurse. Lex got so annoyed.

Yeah, CJ is annoyed by it too, but most the time she lays down for them! Not so bright, I guess.

I'm not worried, but puzzled about it. It's strange, because the both of them make up her whole size!
And I've never seen kittens nurse at such an old age before.

Thanks!
